How Broad Are Your Horizons?

How broad are your horizons?

Reading this excellent book by Chris Hadfield, I was struck by how relevant much of his wisdom is to those in the emergency services.

On competence as an astronaut, he says:

"Competence means keeping your head in a crisis, sticking with a task even when it seems hopeless, and improvising good solutions to tough problems when every second counts".

To me that sounds a lot like the skillset of a police officer, paramedic, firefighter and so on... but how many actually see themselves confidently in those terms?

In the last couple of years, more and more companies are realising this fundamental competence that people with a "blue light" background bring.

Which is great news for anyone looking for a new challenge or disillusioned with the way things are. However, if that's you, you need to be able to first believe in your own competence too - and then be able to express it in a confident, cohesive and compelling way.

Which is where we come in.

So, if you want to broaden your horizons to what's possible - get in touch and let us show you what you could really achieve.
